Nothing brings people together quite like sharing a meal. We can’t explain it, but there’s an intangible magic that surrounds finding and making the perfect recipe, setting the table and breaking bread with the ones you love. And the whole process feels all the more special when even the smallest details are purposefully chosen. That’s why we’ll be making sure to have our ILĀ Collection on hand for all our summer get-togethers.

These stunning pantry essentials are carefully curated by our friends at Sunday Suppers— a Brooklyn-based dinner series and communal space that centers on back-to-basics cooking and a deep love for food. As longtime fans of everything they’ve ever made (and everything we’ve ever made out of their original cookbook), we fell hard for this collection from the moment they told us about it.

What began as a mission to find the purest elements out there led them to farmers, purveyors and artisans all over the world— from the wildflower fields of New York’s Finger Lakes to a seaside medieval town in western France— resulting in a line of simple yet unique ingredients, each with its own rich history and tradition.

Take the Peruvian Pink Salt, for example. This beautiful blush-colored salt comes to us from the mystical Maras Salt Mines located in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, where it has been carefully hand-harvested by native peoples for centuries. Rich in trace minerals, its crisp, complex taste makes a great finishing touch for fresh greens or the main course.

We also can’t get enough of the Olive Oil. It’s made from hand-picked olives grown in the ancient Andalusian groves of Cordoba, which are pressed the same day to ensure a rich, warm flavor with a hint of fruit and nuts. A staple for starting almost any dish, it’s heaven drizzled over just about everything— eggs, veggies, pasta, steaks and even sweets.

Perfect in the kitchen for prepping your fare or sitting tableside for whenever you need a touch of extra flavor, each of these deliciously simple ingredients are sure to become the cornerstone of everything you whip up. Grab a few favorites and let them inspire you to gather everyone together and bask in the beauty of a shared meal.
