Bring a piece of Zimbabwean history to your home with our sculptural Vintage African Stools. A true tribal artifact, these stools have been handcrafted for centuries by a Bantu ethnic group known as the Tonga people. Small yet sturdy, each stool was carved from a solid block of teak or ironwood, forming a circular seat supported by a distinctive geometric base that symbolizes its owner and his status within the group. Perfectly suited to the semi-nomadic life of the Tonga, these lightweight, portable stools were used in daily life in homes, for work and at village gatherings but could easily be packed up when it came time for the tribe’s seasonal migration. While cultural customs ruled that only the male head of a household could sit on our Vintage African Stools, they now have many modern day uses— great as a low-lying extra seat or as a pedestal or tray on the tabletop. Artisan made with unique imperfections, no two are exactly alike.

Furniture/Large Items

  • LOADING DOCK DELIVERY — Your order will be shipped to a local warehouse or receiving agent. Access to a loading dock is required. Arrives in 1-2 weeks.
  • FRONT DOOR DELIVERY — Your order will be shipped to a local delivery company, who will contact you to set up delivery. They will leave your wrapped order at the first dry/secure area. Arrives in 1-2 weeks.
  • WHITE GLOVE DELIVERY — Your order will be shipped to a local delivery company, who will contact you to set up delivery. They will unwarp, inspect, assemble and place your item in your home. Arrives in 2-3 weeks.

Return Policy

Non-furniture Merchandise
Return non-furniture items purchased on our website within 30 days of original delivery for a full refund. We will inspect the returned item(s) and issue a refund to the same credit card used for original purchase. You will receive a confirmation email once we have processed your credit. All shipping charges are non-refundable and will be deducted from your refund.


In-stock Furniture Items

We accept returns of furniture in its original condition when you contact us within 14 days of receiving your item. To receive a full refund, call us at 800.472.1885 or email us at returns@jaysonhome.com. We will arrange to have the item(s) picked up by a local freight company, who will contact you to coordinate pick up. Once returned to our warehouse, we will inspect your item(s) and issue a refund accordingly. Damage or other conditional issues may require deductions from your refund. All shipping charges are non-refundable and will be deducted from your refund.
