Caroline Scheeler

Officially, Caroline Scheeler is Vice President and Creative Director here at Jayson Home. Less officially, she’s also a photographer, equestrian, yogi, chicken farmer, surfer and audiophile. With this well-rounded list of influences, an overflowing passport and a sixth sense for fashion, she’s been shaping the store’s soulful assortment of vintage and contemporary goods since she was hired on as a buyer in 1994.

In the years since, Caroline has taken what was once a fledgling gift shop and transformed it into a brand that’s loved the world over. Equal parts gypsy and bowerbird at heart, visiting off the grid markets and makers around the globe is the perfect fit for her hunter-gatherer talents.

When she’s not scouring the earth in search of inspired merchandise, Caroline’s still on the road, travelling between Jayson Home’s Lincoln Park shop to the gorgeous countryside cottage she shares with her husband, two teenagers and a small menagerie. While a life spent en voyage isn’t for the faint of heart, this visionary wouldn’t have it any other way.

Devin Kirk

Instinct is everything when it comes to Devin Kirk's role as Vice President of Merchandising for Jayson Home. After all, that's what drew him to the shop’s intangible magic fifteen years ago, after moving to Chicago on a whim.

Part hunter and part storyteller, Devin’s eye for the uncommon and flair for the dramatic belie his buttoned-up exterior. A mash-up of influences, collected over a childhood spent moving from coast to coast with his gypsy-spirited mother, has culminated in an unabashed love for things.

This nomadic life taught Devin to make any house into a home and readied him for travelling to far-flung locales in search of one-of-a-kind wares. If all that comes from nurture, then his go-with-your-gut sense of style and deep-seated obsession with design are purely Devin’s nature.

These days, the roaming is just part of the job— Devin has gone from wanderer to happy homebody, putting down roots in the beautiful Chicago apartment he shares with his husband and their son Harry.
