Photographer Michael O’Neill, who over a 50-year career has spent time photographing cultural icons for publications such as The New York Times Magazine and Vanity Fair. O’Neill first set out to make portraits of influential yogis as well as those famed for integrating yoga into their high-profile lives. It was a chance to pay homage to the yoga masters and marry his passion for photography with his newfound study of yoga and meditation. For the last decade, he has immersed himself in the culture of yoga, capturing the origins and essence of this ancient and timeless spiritual practice in over 200 photographs. The result is a powerful photographic tribute to this physical, spiritual and mindful practice turned global phenomenon with over 250 million practitioners.
