DESCRIPTION

"This candy is happiness in a box — literally. Traditionally called Dulce de Alegría, it’s named for the Spanish word for happy and let’s just say it’s a name that fits well. Sold by street vendors in the plazas of Mexico, these sticky-sweet confections are surprisingly nutritious. They’re made with amaranth —an ancient grain that’s rich in protein, fiber and iron — mixed with a blend of seeds, nuts and honey. I just love the beautifully designed (and wonderfully reusable) hand pressed tin they come in, which pays tribute to the rich Mexican folk art of hojalata. The perfect gift for your holiday host or hostess!" - Caroline
