If you're anything like us, you probably wind up with a smart phone full of photos after even just a short weekend trip. But a couple centuries before the birth of the selfie, tourists had other methods of documenting their journeys. For a keepsake that doubled as proof of the trip itself, 18th and 19th century travelers often collected small plaster intaglios, which featured intricately carved reliefs of historical or mythological scenes or figures. Our Framed Intaglios feature a reproduction of one of these souvenirs in white plaster. It's mounted on black mat board in a distressed silver frame for a dramatic display. A true collection, each of our Framed Intaglios is unique. Simple yet elegant, they work in both modern and traditional spaces. We especially love them in a group for a striking gallery wall. While we're glad to be living in the age of check-ins and Instagram feeds, we definitely think our Framed Intaglio is worth including in any decor.
