Our Mourad Collection of distinctive green ceramics comes from the village of Tamegroute in the Zagora region of Morocco. The clay is dug from local river banks, thrown by hand and fired in kilns built into steep slopes. Oxidized copper produces the characteristic green glaze. Because of the primitive nature of our Mourad Platters, we suggest that use with food be limited, but think that a colorful fruit display would be fine. We're also going to use these footed platters on a buffet to create variations in height.
