Morocco is having a moment. Everywhere we look, it seems, we are seeing the gorgeous mementos brought back by friends and colleagues from sojourns to this exotic North African kingdom. And not your average travel trinkets; Morocco is known for bold designs in their ceramics, glassware and – most of all – textiles. We thought we had seen it all until our favorite “Rug Man” brought us this latest collection of one-of-a-kind vintage kilims. They stand out from the crowd with their alternating flat weave, unusual fringe and striking symmetry. Hand woven from un-dyed sheep’s wool, they are a rich combination of browns, ivories and greys. Any one of them would make a soothing anchor in a neutral space, but they would be just as perfect as one layer of many in a well-traveled, worldly room. Quantities are limited and each is unique.
