Marbled is having a moment. In fairness, the moment started a couple thousand years ago, but today the characteristic swirls and veins of this metamorphic rock are being replicated on everything from paper goods to pillows. We've fallen hard for the iconic motif that somehow delivers a vibe that is both organic and luxe. And we especially love the warm handmade patterning on this sleek, modern stoneware.
Lest you think this is just a passing fad, marbled stoneware - historically known as agateware - actually has a pedigree dating to the 17th century. Developed by an English potter, agateware is made through a complicated technique of mixing colored clays to form random effects and interesting textures. The result: every single bowl is different. Our Kent Marbled Bowls happen to be a sublime combination of brown, crème and bisque hues that create some rather striking designs. While the exteriors have a smooth matte finish, the interiors are glazed to be watertight, making them as useful as they are beautiful. Whether catching your keys, breaking up a bookshelf or serving up a fruit display ,we'd like to think our Kent Bowls will make the moment however you use them.
